Coolest Thing Made in Connecticut: Calzone Case Company’s Calzone Go Live Workstation
This year, Calzone Case Co. was proud to compete in the Coolest Thing Made in CT Tournament, a statewide competition celebrating the people, products, and manufacturers that make up Connecticut.
Our entry, the Calzone Go Live Workstation, represented the craftsmanship and practical innovation behind the products we build right here in Connecticut. Designed to protect valuable equipment while supporting professionals on the go, our workstation reflects our commitment to creating dependable, purpose-built solutions for an array of industries.
A Competition That Brought Connecticut Together
The Coolest Thing Made in Connecticut Tournament brought together 16 manufacturers from across the state, each showcasing a product that represents a different side of Connecticut's manufacturing industry. Through a bracket-style competition, the public voted for their favorite products as the field narrowed from round to round.
For Calzone, the tournament was about more than competing for a title. It was an opportunity to introduce more people to our products, highlight the work happening inside Connecticut manufacturing facilities, and celebrate the people and businesses that keep our state's manufacturing tradition moving forward.
We were especially grateful for the enthusiasm and support shown throughout the competition. From sharing voting opportunities to spreading the word throughout the community, every show of support helped shine a light on Connecticut-made products.
Community Support
One of the most rewarding parts of the tournament was seeing the community come together to support local manufacturing. Our participation also created an opportunity to celebrate the connection between Calzone Case Co. and Fairfield Prep, bringing school pride and local manufacturing together around a shared campaign.
We were especially honored to welcome Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim to our factory, where he filmed a video in support of Calzone Case Co. and our participation in the Coolest Thing Made in Connecticut Tournament. His visit was a meaningful show of support for our company and highlighted the importance of recognizing and celebrating Connecticut manufacturers.
Throughout the competition, we were proud to see community members rally behind our entry, share our campaign, and encourage others to vote. From local supporters to community leaders, the enthusiasm surrounding the tournament reminded us that manufacturing is about more than the products we build. It is about the people, relationships, and communities that stand behind the businesses making them.
We are grateful to everyone who helped spread the word and supported our journey throughout the competition. Their encouragement made the experience especially meaningful and reinforced our pride in being a Connecticut manufacturer.
Celebrating Connecticut Manufacturing at the Statewide Summit
The competition culminated on October 1, 2026, at the Made in Connecticut: 2026 Manufacturing Summit, hosted at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. Organized by CBIA, the event brought together members of Connecticut's manufacturing and business communities to recognize the state's manufacturing achievements and discuss the industry's future.
The summit featured networking opportunities, a manufacturing showcase, industry discussions, and awards recognizing contributions to Connecticut manufacturing. The highlight of the event was the announcement of the 2026 Coolest Thing Made in Connecticut winner.
The Lee Company took home the title for its Satellite Propellant Isolation Valve, a product supporting critical space applications. Congratulations to The Lee Company and all the manufacturers whose products were featured in this year's competition.
At Calzone Case Co., our participation in the Coolest Thing Made in Connecticut Tournament reinforced something we value every day: the importance of building quality products and supporting the community we call home.
